I'd say the same about the Internet. It is a medium rather than a resource for folks. I've met the most appalling folk here. I've also met the Fiancee, no less. It is a medium really rather that a place where wisdom is generated in of itself.

What wonderful news, Walls. And I'm impressed that the Internet is now the Cupid of true love for so many. I'm interested in the way you separate "medium" from "resource" in such a finely tuned way. I spend quite a bit of time thinking about the encounters I have had on the Internet and how they may be made more authentic. Much of my experience convinces me that many people, even when sharing a mother tongue, speak widely diversified languages and do not easily communicate there. Many of the rows are based on mis-construed reception of the original message. The experience has left me very contendly trying to make sense.

The obsession with leadership which has directed public life for the past twenty years or so seems to have caused more problems for everybody than has been documented.
